Building Reinstatement Cost Valuations
Whilst as Building Surveyors we do not provide valuations of the open market sale value of a property or deal with leasehold enfranchisement work*, we do undertake Reinstatement Cost Valuations otherwise known as insurance valuations. These are calculations of the cost to replace a property in the event of its complete destruction from say a fire or gas explosion.
Most often this service will require a survey to take external wall dimensions of the property to obtain its external area, plus height and internal quality of fit out assessment before preparing our calculation report. Detailed scaled plans provided by the client at instruction can reduce the cost of this service.
If you require this service, our fee basis for Building Reinstatement Cost Valuation work is normally charged on a time charged or lump sum basis based on the predicted time expenditure. Sometimes clients ask for these BRCVs as a bolt on to a Building Survey.
